Nice designs, a few small issues

I purchased a couple of the Halloween needlework kits from Shenanigans. The designs are lovely, really unique. Everything was well-packaged when it arrived. I did notice one of the specialty beads in my 'Haunted House' kit was a slightly different shade than the others, but it wasn't a major problem. Shipping was standard, about a week. Overall, a good experience, but a bit more quality control on the small embellishments would be good.

Got a good deal on a sampler

This was my first time buying from Shenanigans, and I was looking for value. I picked up one of their Spring Garden Samplers during a holiday bundle discount they had running. It was a good price for what you got – linen fabric, silk threads, and the chart. I compared it to some other stores, and this bundle saved me a decent amount. Shipping wasn't instant, took 5 days to reach Denver, but it was free with my order, which is always a plus. Felt like a solid purchase for the money.

Does anyone know if the charms shown in the pictures for the Just Nan kits actually come with the kit, or do you have to buy them separately? They look really cute.

Most of the time, if it's an embellished kit, the charms and beads are included. But it's always good to double-check the product description just in case. I've had good luck with them being in there.

I think it depends on the kit. For the full kits, usually yes. But if it's just a chart, you're buying everything else separately.

Honestly, coupons are super rare directly from them. They usually do free patterns for holidays or if you sign up for their newsletter. That's about it for discounts, from what I've seen.

I think they mainly sell through local shops, so returns might depend on where you buy it from. If you buy directly from their site, I'm not sure if they even do returns on patterns since it's like a digital thing usually.

I'm new to cross-stitching and looking at Just Nan vs. Mirabilia. Is Just Nan easier to start with or are they both pretty similar in terms of complexity for a beginner?

Just Nan can be pretty intricate with all the beads and specialty stitches, so maybe not the easiest for a *total* beginner. Mirabilia can also be super detailed though. I'd say maybe look for a smaller Just Nan ornament kit first if you want to try them out.

Mirabilia designs are usually much bigger and have way more beads. Just Nan often has smaller, more whimsical things, which might be a good stepping stone. Just depends on the specific pattern.

You can definitely buy just the charts! That's how I usually get them. They're primarily a design company, so charts are their main thing. Kits are more common for the special editions or newer releases.
